John Elkann

John Elkann is an Italian-American businessman and the chairman and CEO of Exor, an international investment company controlled by the Agnelli family. He is also the chairman of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Ferrari, CNH Industrial and PartnerRe.

John Elkann is an Italian-American businessman and the current chairman and CEO of Exor, an international investment company. He is also the chairman of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, the world’s seventh-largest automobile manufacturer. Elkann is the great-great-grandson of Giovanni Agnelli, the founder of Fiat, and the grandson of Gianni Agnelli, the former chairman of Fiat.

Elkann was born in New York City in 1976 to Alain Elkann, a French-Italian writer, and Margherita Agnelli, the daughter of Gianni Agnelli. He was raised in Turin, Italy, and attended the University of the Sacred Heart in Milan. After graduating, he worked for the family business, Fiat, in various roles, including as a board member and as the head of Fiat’s industrial relations.

In 2004, Elkann was appointed vice chairman of Fiat, and in 2010 he was appointed chairman of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. He has since been credited with leading the company’s successful turnaround, which included the acquisition of Chrysler in 2014.

In addition to his business career, Elkann is also a philanthropist and has been involved in a number of charitable initiatives. He is the founder of the Agnelli Foundation, which works to promote social and economic development in Italy, and he is also a board member of the Fondazione CRT, a foundation that works to promote social and economic development in Italy’s Piedmont region.

Elkann is also a member of the Bilderberg Group, an annual private conference of influential people from the fields of politics, business, and media. He is also a member of the Trilateral Commission, an international think tank that works to foster cooperation between the United States, Europe, and Japan.

In recognition of his business and philanthropic achievements, Elkann has been awarded a number of honors, including the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic and the Order of Merit of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. He has also been named one of the world’s most influential people by Time magazine.
