Naoki Urasawa is a Japanese manga artist and one of the most acclaimed and popular manga creators in the world. He is best known for his works such as Monster, 20th Century Boys, and Pluto.

Naoki Urasawa was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1960. He began drawing manga at a young age and was inspired by the works of Osamu Tezuka, the creator of Astro Boy. He attended the prestigious Tokyo University of the Arts, where he studied oil painting and sculpture. After graduating, he worked as an assistant to the manga artist Tetsuya Chiba.

In 1983, Urasawa made his professional debut with the manga series, Yawara! A Fashionable Judo Girl. The series was a success and ran for nine years. In 1989, he created the manga series, Master Keaton, which ran for eight years.

In 1994, Urasawa created the manga series, Monster, which was a psychological thriller about a doctor who is trying to save a young boy from a mysterious monster. The series was a huge success and ran for nine years. In 2003, he created the manga series, 20th Century Boys, which was a science fiction mystery about a group of childhood friends who must save the world from a mysterious cult. The series was a huge success and ran for twelve years.

In 2008, Urasawa created the manga series, Pluto, which was a re-imagining of the classic Astro Boy series. The series was a huge success and ran for eight years.

Urasawa has won numerous awards for his work, including the Shogakukan Manga Award, the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize, and the Kodansha Manga Award. He has also been inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Awards Hall of Fame.

Urasawa is considered one of the greatest manga creators of all time and his works have been praised for their intricate storylines, detailed artwork, and psychological depth. He continues to be a major influence in the manga industry and his works have been adapted into anime, live-action films, and video games.
