Sacks was born in Los Angeles, California in 1972. He attended Stanford University, where he earned a degree in economics. After graduating, he worked at a number of technology companies, including Apple, Claris, and Intuit. In 1998, he joined PayPal as the company’s Chief Operating Officer. At PayPal, he helped the company grow from a small startup to a global payments giant.

In 2005, Sacks co-founded Yammer, a social networking platform for businesses. He served as the company’s CEO until 2012, when it was acquired by Microsoft for $1.2 billion. After the acquisition, Sacks joined the Microsoft executive team as Corporate Vice President of the Office Division.

In 2017, Sacks founded Craft Ventures, a venture capital firm that invests in early-stage companies. The firm has invested in a number of companies, including Bird, Coinbase, and Glossier.

Sacks is also an active angel investor, having invested in companies such as Airbnb, Dropbox, and Uber. He is a board member of several companies, including Coinbase, Glossier, and the XPRIZE Foundation.

In addition to his business endeavors, Sacks is an active philanthropist. He is a board member of the XPRIZE Foundation, a non-profit organization that encourages technological advancement through competitions.
